Are you looking for a duplex on Vancouver Island? Duplexes are great for those who do not want to pay high strata fees in a townhouse complex. A lot of duplexes do not have strata fees and if they do, they have less by-laws to deal. The strata is more relaxed in a duplex complex. This allows clients to have a single family detached feeling, while living in a duplex in Victoria BC. My clients also like the fact, that with the duplexes that are for sale in Victoria, the neighborhood is less busy, there is more parking available and more flexibility to living next to simply one neighbor. I always encourage clients who are looking for a home in Victoria BC, to also consider looking at duplexes in their price point close to downtown Victoria BC. Esquimalt has quite a few duplexes for sale, as there are several homes, that have been zoned on duplex lots. Developers are buying this homes, tearing them down, building duplexes, so as to provide more homes for sale in Victoria BC. Duplex lots are typically zoned to allow two dwellings, however there are some duplexes that are built with suites as well, providing additional accommodation and revenue, which is great, as most townhouses do not offer this additional income and opportunity. We are finding now, as projects are getting more densified, there are less duplexes being offered, and more townhouse projects being built, as a result this is driving up the value of duplexes that are available for sale.
